Welcome to Careers@Asmuss

Here at the Asmuss Group, we are all about the people.  We are very lucky to have some of the best in the industry working for us, as well as significantly experienced employees to teach our new recruits how to be Asmuss through and through.

Not all of our roles are advertised, so have a read, and if you think you have what it takes and want to be a part of our team we are always looking for the future technical experts and leaders of our business.  If you are interested in working for us at Asmuss please send your CV to jobs@hja.co.nz.

Our Vision

As a Group, our Vision is at the heart of everything we do and is fundamental to our on-going success.

“We are the preferred choice of Steel, Engineering and Pipeline products for construction, infrastructure and industry.  We are innovative, flexible and continuously improving.  We are run by “real” people focused on the Asmuss tradition of Customer Service excellence.”

The "real" people we have on board are encouraged to take ownership and accountability for their work.  You aren't likely to be micro-managed at Asmuss because we have high expectations of all our employees. We expect that you will get on with delivering results.  The innovative and continuously improving environment means that we are building a culture of people who are trying to find new ways to do things better and we listen to them.  By having new branches joining us, as well as new divisions, we are able to share and understand how our individual business units succeed and implement that across the Group, becoming one successful Asmuss Group.

The next few years for us will bring a lot of changes as we are all about improving ourselves.  We know this and are straight up with our team about achieving these changes.  We are after those people who want to take Asmuss into the next chapter, who aren't afraid of hard work, who have ideas on how things could be done better and who aren't scared to speak up so their ideas are heard.

Our People

As a Group, Asmuss employs over 230 permanent employees. We have some really exciting things going on in the Group to transform us into a leader in the industry.

We employ a huge range of staff and are focused on developing them in the areas they want to go into.  A large number of our senior managers and technical experts have worked their way from the ground up, so they know our business inside and out.  We are committed to finding more brilliant people who are going to live and breathe Asmuss like we do and will support them in achieving outstanding results which we can be proud of.

With new Branches and Divisions come more and more opportunities for our staff.  Most of our roles are advertised internally to give our team the opportunity to develop.  If they aren't quite ready for the next step we do what we can to support them in getting to where they want to be.

Rewards & Recognition

We are very excited that in 2017 we launched our Company Wellness programme - Be Good To Go!  This is to is to recognise the importance of providing a healthy and safe workplace. We wish to provide a space where all of our team are able to access and easily utilise the wellness benefits we have to offer them and their families.  We have a diverse workforce (from school leavers to some who have been with us for over 30 years) and we understand that different benefits appeal to different people.  Our Wellness Programme wraps up many of the benefits we have had on offer for a long time as well as offering even more to our employees.  We are a family business and we will continue to develop our Wellness Programme to ensure we are providing our team with a range of benefits that support them.
